It seems like Michigan is recruiting better than ever right now. A lot of positive momentum on the recruiting trail. We have historically also seen a lot of our recruits rise in the rankings by the end of their senior season. Ohio State is still able to pull better talent according the the rankings, but it seems like we have developed better since 2020. Excited to see these next few classes come together on the field and to keep reloading with solid classes behind them. Hopefully Michigan can figure NIL out a little bit better to catch up with some of the other top programs in pure talent these next few years.
I feel the NIL has created a pay-to-play system, where schools with deep pockets can outspend their rivals to attract top talent.
@mds I 100% agree with this. Coaching and strategy is more important then ever to our play and smart the purchased talent some of these bigger schools and boosters have to NIL athletes
Yeah for sure. It’ll be interesting to see how long the buying recruits thing lasts. It will probably always be there for the top recruits unless the NCAA cracks down on it. But it will be interesting to see if there is a shift for players to get paid by their performance on the field instead of recruits getting paid to commit.
